I’m selling a genuine St. Louis Total adding cash register from around 1919 that was never put into service, also known as NOS (New Old Stock). It has been stored for decades and remains unused, with no rust or noticeable wear. Registers this old are getting harder to find in this kind of condition.
The amounts increment by $0.05 with a maximum total of $1.95, plus a “No Sale” option.
The register employs a unique single-lever mechanism: the lever is pushed down to select the desired increment, total, and to open the drawer (instead of traditional keys). This distinctive control also triggers the bell and the drawer release.
Includes two keys: one for opening the cover and another for resetting the cumulative total counter.
The register drawer is solid wood with the original lacquer finish.
The numbered tags are encased in original glass and can be viewed from both the front and back. The number tags pop up smoothly when the mechanical handle is pushed down, which also activates a bell and the drawer opening mechanism. This style of handle adds to its uniqueness and is not commonly found on antique cash registers.
These machines were built to accurately record each sale, display the amount, and keep a daily running total. Solid metal construction and a great piece of early business equipment.
This is your chance to own a rare piece of history in impeccable condition. Ideal for collectors, or anyone looking for a unique display piece.
