The 1903-S $20 Gold Double Eagle is a Liberty Head (Coronet) gold coin struck at the San Francisco Mint. It is part of the "Type 3" design series, characterized by the full spelling of "Twenty Dollars" and the inclusion of the national motto.
Obverse: Features a profile of Lady Liberty facing left, wearing a coronet (diadem) inscribed with "LIBERTY". She is encircled by 13 stars, with the date "1903" centered at the bottom.
Reverse: Depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast, holding arrows and olive branches. Above the eagle is an oval of 13 stars with rays, and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST". The legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY DOLLARS" surround the design.
Mintage: 954,000 coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1903.
Price is fairly firm. Would also be interested in trade involving Silver.
